You Gov Surveys

Has anyone else signed up to do YouGov surveys? They are online surveys on political views, you are told you'll get £1 for each survey you complete. However, you must complete 50 to receive any payment and for some you don't get any payment for completing the survey, you just get entered in to a competition.

I signed up for you gov about a month ago and have the grand sum of £1.50 so far. Since I have signed up I have had about 6 surveys to do and only got paid for one of them, the rest were prize draw entries.
I dont know how long it would take to get to £50 but im guessing a loooong time!

It took me two years to get to the £50 payout.geordie_joe wrote: »For me at least, the surveys are few and far between. So it takes years to reach £50.

Signed up April '05, paid £50 in Jan '08. And they aren't always political.
I don't mind the delay - at least when you get a 'paid survey' you do actually get paid if you complete it, instead of places like Ciao where you spend 20 minutes completing questions only to be told "you're not what we're looking for," even though, IMHO, I've completed enough questions for the sponsor to get something useful out of it. And that's ignoring the fact that Ciao pay a pittance.
In contrast (apart from the Brand Index surveys which I detest) YouGov surveys are generally shorter.
In short - Yes, I've signed up, but I don't have any issues with them.Conjugating the verb 'to be":

It depends on what demographic group you are in i.e. what information do they desire from you for the amount of surveys you recieve. And remember, that 50 quid isn't free you know!
They are a very respectable outfit (I used to work for them but was tempted away purely buy a large sum of money elsewhere).£8k to pay off before Jan 2011! Was 28k to pay off by Jan 2010 though so I'm happy

Ive been paid out once from earnings and once (£50) from winning a competition so you do have a chance of winning.
I think I have been a member about 2 years.
It is generally a couple of surveys a month but I think they become more prolific when there is a majot political issue like an election or whatever.0
