Pixmania Refund

I bought some computer equipment from Pixmania in January.
When it arrived it did not have a UK plug.
When I contacted Pixmania they said an adapter should have been in the box as alot of their electrical goods come from the continent.
They said they can send one to me but would I like a flat or round adapter. After many messages back and forth I could not work out what the difference was between a flat or round adapter and wasn't sure which one I needed so they said I could buy my own and they would refund me £3.
I checked that my local Maplin had some in stock and that It cost less than £3 so I agreed on the refund.
I have contacted Pixmania several times to organise my refund but I still have not got it nearly 3 months later.
Every time I phoned they said they would action the refund immediately but nothing ever happened.
Finally yesterday I spoke to someone else and they said they only refund the full purchase amount onto the card you paid for the goods on. As mine is a part refund they need to do a bank transfer. They cannot do this without the IBAN and SWIFT numbers of my bank account. This was news to me.
Now it looks like my bank will charge me for using this bank transfer and it could be more than the refund value.
What I would like to know is: Are they pulling a fast one? Why can they not refund my credit card? I am sure other compaines have done this before and its not illegal or anything?
What should I do. Phone Pixmania nack and demand they refund my Credit Card or even send a Cheque??
Thanks,
Mark

Hi M4rky
I never use Pixmania even though they often come out very competitively on the price comparison sites as I know they supply a lot of 'grey' imports.
I was buying a Nikkon digital camera and the instruction book with the Pixmania one came with French instructions.
I was told I could download the English version and print it, but who wants a tiny camera and 100 pages of A4 instructions?
But, I digress....
I'm not sure about buying stuff over the Internet but if you buy something from one of the High street stores (M&S, Next etc), pay on credit card and then later want to return one item but keep the rest, they do DO a part refund on the credit card.
So, I can't see why this should be any different.
