Measuring a rotary clothes line

I need to replace my rotary line but haven't got a clue how they are measured?
It has 3 arms and the measurement from the centre out to the end of one of the arms is 3.5ft.
They are all sold as 30M, 40M etc and I'm not sure how they are measurement?

Hi,
by my rough calculations, your longest length, around outside, will be 18 feet, and coming in 6 inches at a time, to 1 foot from centre, reduces to 15.6, 12.9, 10.5, 7.8, and 5.1 feet for each loop.
Total = 69.9 feet, 30m = 100 feet roughly, so should be enough.
If you want to calculate it yourself, measure across each arm where you will be looping the line, moving towards centre, add them all up and multiply by 3, = total feet, them multiply by .3048, to get metres.
Of course, you can measure in metric first.
Oh, if you buy a shorter length, start your line from the outside, then if you run short, it'll be near the middle, on the smaller bits.0
