renaming bulk files how to?

I have 1000 mp3 songs named artist/track but all have a four digit number in front for example, 0045-madonna-like a virgin

is there a way to remove the numbers all in one go so the artist/track name is left as it would take ages to remove each one at a time.

Try Ant Renamer, it's a very useful little open source tool.

or something like it(i.e. it would need debugging).

Yet you couldn't help it. Wait, I'm going to show off as well:

for %a in (*.mp3) ren %a.mp3 000%a.mp3

Useless as well, doesn't really do what was asked, but hey, looky looky what I can do. And I'm sure my syntax is fine without debugging.

On topic, I use Bulk Rename Utility because it supports Unicode.
