Equifax credit gold?

They are fine, they try and persuade you to stay but not in a big way, they just try to do a bit of a sell on you but when I did it they were still very nice about it.£34,547 (Dec 07); Current debt: £zilch (Debt free December 2010)
Sealed Pot #389 (2010=£133)0 -
...but it only reports in 'simplified' format.I use checkmyfile.com which I signed up to through Quidco and that checks all 3 credit agencies.
Personally, I wouldn't waste my money on this report. You'd be far better to pay £2 each for 'direct from the CRA' statutory reports.
To see just how much information is missing from a checkmyfile report, check out the table of information here...
http://www.checkmyfile.com/view.asp?display=CRT (look at the number of x's, ie information that is NOT provided to checkmyfile by the CRA's.
See also condition 5 in the T&C's...

Another 'service' not worth bothering with is annualcreditreport, because they only show you what CallCredit hold on you...and they're by far the smallest, and least used, CRA.0 -
Coolmum - when i tried to cancel, i called, said i wanted to cancel and was asked if the service was ok and i got my reports ok. Said yes thanks and that was the end of it. Not really a hard sell - if they do ask why you want to cancel jsut tell them you wanted to see what was on your credit file; and now you know.
Agree with the creditscore not being worth paying for. There are a number of posts with members confused because they have a good score from equifax/experian but can't get credit. I think the main thing these reports take into account is if you are good at making repayments. If you owe more than your annual salary, this will probably sway some of the banks into giving a lower score that may not have been taken into account by the credit agency.
Didn't know that the info was watered down for checkmyfile YorkshireBoy. Had been pondering if it would be worth looking at this - now i know. Thanks for that. After falling off the gambling wagon (twice): £33,600 (24,000+ 9,600) - Original CC Debt: £7,885.91

Someone mentioned moneysupermarket's "smartsearch" earlier in the thread. I've had twice my salary in stoozing debt, and still scored an 'excellent' rating. Why?...because you're not asked for existing indebtedness or salary. Completely pointless IMHO.If you owe more than your annual salary...
There have been many posts on the CC forum where people have been asking why their Experian 'score' was only, say, 500 when their Equifax 'score' was 800+. The answer lies in the vast amount of information that is NOT supplied to checkmyfile from Experian.Didn't know that the info was watered down for checkmyfile YorkshireBoy. Had been pondering if it would be worth looking at this - now i know.
What usually happens is that, despite spending nearly £20 on a triple agency report, they then have to go and do what they should have done in the first place...ie pay £6 (3 x £2) and get the information straight from the horse's mouth.0
