leasing a business property

hey folks,

has anyone had experience in leasing a property for business purposes? if so any advise on the following:

- paying rent (monthly/quarterly/in advance) can this be negotiated with your landlord?
- did you employ a solicitor to do deal with the lease on your behalf or do it yourself?

any thing's to look out for?

  • when we bought a business 3 yrs ago we had to lease the building, this was paid monthly to llord and has we were buying business we did go through it with solicitor.

i would say make sure you have every thing on tenancy agreement checked as landlords only have these done to their advantage.

our landlord was quite good and when he wanted to raise the rent he did negotiate fairly.
