I have applied online, have to wait for some paperwork to come through. No doubt I will have a lot of hassle with the ID checks as always.

Looks like "le crunch" is defying all the "all over, written off £2.35, all ok now, nothing to see, please move on" stuff... http://business.timesonline.co.uk/tol/business/money/savings/article3779360.ece

Does anyone know if money transfers quickly between BM and Halifax?
    Bump! :)

Be good to know the answer to this question if anyone has any personal experience?

For example, is it like Halifax & Sainsbury's where Halifax=>Sainsbury's are instant, and back the otherway is overnight?
  • Always had excellent service with BM.

Just transferred again from my BM websaver to the new esaver @ 6.5%. Transfer to take place at midnight Yippee!

No hassle with closing/withdrawing opening accounts etc..!

I've just opened their 1 year fixed rate account rather than the instant access account, but the booklet I've received today is called "Savings & Investments Customer Service Guide" and says:

HOW TO TRANSFER MONEY AND MAKE A PAYMENT

    ELECTRONIC TRANSFER OF MONEY

Funds should go to the following account

    Barclays Bank PLC

    Sort code: 20-97-78

    Account number: 1******0

Reference: (Insert your Birmingham Midshires Savings account number here)
