Best Airmiles Credit Cards

in Credit cards
Hi, I'd be grateful for advice about which is the best card to get that gives Airmiles (or an equivalent) as a reward.
Some stuff that might be relevant:
- I'd be using them for flights to and from the US. (So I assume that things like the Easyjet card might not be any use to me - don't know if that's true or not)
- I'd pay my bill in full each month. (Basically, I'm just looking to transfer my spending from my debit card to the credit card)
- I'm only interested in flights. (I don't want cashback or anything else like that)
- I already have a Virgin card with a balance on it. (So anything from MBNA is probably out of the question?)
- Erm, think that's it, for now.
Thanks for any help, sorry if this is a noob question and is answered somewhere else, just point me in that direction if it is please.

I would suggest looking at the frequent flyer programmes on www.flyertalk.com, it is US based, but the british airline boards are useful.
Airmiles itself is just one programme, but not necessarily the best.
BA miles can be bought with tesco points as well as their own credit card
AMEX greeN allows you to transfer directly to a variety of airline programmes (although not BA), but has an annual fee of £60. This allows flexibility as there may not be availability on your chosen airline when you want to fly.
You need to consider if it would be better value for you to just get a cashback credit card and put the cashback towards your flights.0 -
Thanks, I'll have a look into that.0
