Renting in Canterbury

Hi.
I would like to ask a massive favour. I know it is early but my boyfriend and I are moving to Canterbury soon and we are heading down there in the last week of May. We were wondering if there was a possibility that someone could send us a few papers with renting classifieds in so we can arrange some viewings. The internet isn't being that useful.
I'd be happy to pay for any expenses.

Either that or any links to private lettings for in the city. Estate agent's fees are just too high.

Thanks a lot

You can look here for the online version of the kentish gazette for lettings. Usually it doubles up with paper.

The house I'm considering letting/selling on an earlier post is in Canterbury. A letting agent told me that 3 bed houses rent from £6-900 pcm.

Ive just got the Kent on Sunday paper and the only letting agent i could find in canterbury is connells. their website is https://www.connells.co.uk and if you want their number it is 01227 829970. hope phone numbers are allowed on here.

I have no idea if the company is any good or not though so it's not a recommendation. HTH

    You could try here: http://kent.gumtree.com/rent/flats_rent/canterbury
or here: http://www.accommodationforstudents.com/Canterbury.asp - some of the LLs listed also do lettings for professionals.

Coming as an ex student from there, bear in mind that there is a lot of students in the area with little housing which means a boosted price for rent. And a wide range of qualities of house again down to it being a student town and "anything will do" attitude, "the letting shop" used to be notouriously bad for ripping off people with deposits etc. and not sorting out issues though day management services were generally pretty good. Downs road contains a lot of students and is more likely to get robbed so I wouldn't get anywhere there. The farther from the uni the better in terms of quality and value for money etc.

I miss the old place, and i do hope the guy with the tea cosy on his head who used to play the keyboard on autoplay is still alive and about, though he must have spent a fortune on batteries
Money, Money, Money ..... Banks/Casinos/Bookies give me all you money its a poor mans world....
  • I know this thread is getting a bit old, (cobwebs forming), but there is another place you could try: http://studentletscanterbury.com

It's run by a company called English Homes Group who do student accommodation Canterbury and Medway
