Parquet flooring - costs/fitting/maintenance

My mum's had the bright idea of getting Parquet flooring fitted on the premise that it'll be easier to maintain than the current beige carpet (which seems to highlight the smallest amount of dirt).

I'll be reading through this site when time permits.

Does anyone have any idea on the costs per m2?

Additionally, whats the fitting cost like? This may be a DIY job though

Maintenace: is it high maintenace?

TIA.

Dunno about the fitting but ours is easy to clean/maintain in our dining room. HG do an excellent of range of parquet cleaning/polishing products for this sort of thing. Many places supply including:-

Look under the HG brand to see the full range, but they do work well.

My wife fitted ours. We got all the parquet blocks from a salvage place, they came from an old school I think. Anyway cleaned up and cold tar glued, they are great and really durable.
