I've just applied for the capital one 0% cc til may 2009.
They have said I can't have this one but offered a 0% til 1st Feb 2009.
Anyone know why this has happened?
This has also happened to me but I'll go for it anyway. I wouldn't worry too much about being turned down, there are more than likely looking for those that get into debt rather than us canny money savers. As regularly stated by Martin, once they've done a credit check, you may as well use it.
It appears the one you and I applied for is not now included in Martin's articles on best for Balance Transfer or best for Purchases ( As it is a dual card I can't remember whether one, the other or both articles recommended it ) It also appears to have disappeared from their site which suggests they've lured enough to get a percentage into debt. For every one of us there is plenty of such people. The other possibility being that, as usual, I'm looking in the wrong place:rotfl:0 -
This happened to us too - applied for the 0% card and got offered the 26.4% card instead. Apparently, according to customer services, 1 out of 5 people who apply for the 0% card get offered the high interest alternative as they get too many applications (I'm not sure he should have told us that!) So don't take it personally. Thanks for the advice Martin! :money:Member no. 920 - Proud to be dealing with our debts0
