Claiming Personal Injury?

Hi to all,

I am new on this forum.Just wanted to ask a question about a bad incident happened to me. I was hanging out with my friends in one of the London areas and been attacked by some violent racist guys.We were four and got injured.The incident was reported and police came on the spot with an ambulence and we were taken to the hospital.Even after 4 days of that i am not feeling good and some scars left on my face. I have not bought any insurance but thinking to have one now. Is there any way i can claim for that incident?

It is not an insurance matter. Insurance does not cover people for compensation claims against them, arising out of deliberate acts of violence.

Your best recourse here is the Criminal Injuries Compensation Authority but it is a pretty buerocratic process and the amounts awardable are generally low 4 figures only for the tpye of injury you describe.

There is an eligibility checker on that site and also a rough guide to compensation levels. As an example, minor, permanent facial disfigurement is worth £1500.
