Need to find this skirting board

I am looking for skirting board like this http://www.photobox.co.uk/album/8036278 I need to replace about 4 metres of it.

I wouldn't know where to start. I have been looking into B&Q, Wickes, Jewsons etc. Would I be better trying an independant place? Would they be able to make one?

Look in your yellow pages for timber merchants. If there's one that's been established for donkey's years and your skirting is very old they may have a bit of your skirting in stock. Mine has skirting styles going back to the 1930's, but only one bloke knows which bits have been stored where !
Can't answer about if they would make some to match your existing board, it's worth asking.

Travis Perkins stock a very good range of skirting. I'd try there (they were the only place I could find that had the skirting I wanted). If your local TP branch doesn't have it, they might be able to locate it at another branch. Definitely worth a try.

This is a standard 'Ogee' profile skirting board and normally available in Timber (Soft and Hard woods) and pre finished MDF. If you can remove it from the wall it is well worth going to your local independent Timber Yard / merchants with a sample. The Big stores are not noirmally helpful if it is something particular that you are looking for. Howdens also stock it and it comes in 4.2 m lengths from there. Alternatively ask a local carpenter to do a supply and fit job and ask him to source it for you. My local timber merchants stock it but that is in Essex. Travis perkins do stock it but there 'over the counter' prices are like telephone numbers.

Is it standard ogee board though? I have loked at dozens of sites and some come close but are more rounded at the top. the link I posted was the closest I found.
