Wow, So sorry seems like I opened up a can of worms.
I can always return them should they not sell. Its only like a mail order but i'm not paying mail order price.
I also have a purse that I brought with staff discount. I could still sell below what you would pay for it in the shop and still make a profit.
See i'm a nice girl too.

Yes but more importantly than being nice, is that you spotted a deal, are using your head and being a little canny to hopefully make a little cash and from what you say you've got a safety net if they don't sell. All upfront. Nice don't buy dem buns!0

isn't that called business and capitalism? You buy something someone wants and sell it for a profit.
Personally i don't see anything wrong with that.

I think as long as you're not deliberately defrauding the seller and are paying either the advertised or negotiated price, I can't see anything wrong.
It would be different if you had inside trading information on some company who were going to be floated on the stock exchange - that's against the law.
If you can manage to get 2 of this item and sell one on at a profit, I don't see the harm - as long as you are aware that it might backfire and actually cost you money.

I don't have a problem with it at all- one of the ways I'm getting out of debt is by trawling car boots etc and buying stuff to ebay. I'm paying what people are asking for their goods and because I've done my homework and know what will sell I make a profit. The risk I take and the risk the OP is taking is that sometimes I'm wrong and I make a loss. I bought a picture from a shop and decided I didn't like it once I got it home. When I became a DFW/had a LBM a few months later I listed it on eBay still in it's wrapper and made a good profit. The thought had crossed my mind that I could by a few and sell them on.... but I agree about taking advantage of vulnerable people....could never keep a straight face if I was buying an absolute bargain for a LOT less than it was worth. It's all karma I spose...

I've no real issues here, apart from a bit of conscience, in that I have had early access to concert tickets and have sold on ebay for three timers worth. The conscience bit is that whoever buys them may have been a DFW and has splashed out. But you never know who the customer is. Also though, tickets are still available at list price from the venue, so people should check there first...
By the way, I spend £10 a year on a membership that gets me these tickets...0
