Hi All,
Just wanting help on a morale/financial issue.
Is it wrong to buy something knowing full well that you could sell it for more on an auction site?
Just wanting some opinions.
Thanks

It depends on, who are you buying it from and your own moral code I suppose. No one would like to think they have been 'done over', but in todays society with google etc I don't think I would sell something without having a tentative look at what it was worth. My own personal opinion anyway
.
Doesn't help your dilema does it?:rotfl:

I guess it depends if you would be taking advantage of the original seller when buying the item.
For example, if it was an old lady who had had a piece of furniture for years handed down through the family so 'it had always been there' but you knew it was a Chippendale and offered to 'take it down to the scrapyard for a fiver', then sold it for £thousands, my personal view is that you'd be lower than a snake's belly.
If however, something is priced in a shop and you pay that price knowing that you can sell it for more, that's OK (with me).

Hi there I am with Polly, it really does depend. You might want to buy it sell it and then split the difference with the original seller or something. Are we talking making £100's or just a few extra pounds?

If you're buying from an individual then i'd say morally questionable, but from a company - go for it. They should have already done their pricing calculations and are happy to sell at that price. After falling off the gambling wagon (twice): £33,600 (24,000+ 9,600) - Original CC Debt: £7,885.91

Hi, It is something from a huge directory which I know will sell out quickly when it is released. I really want one for myself but I cannot really afford it so I thought that if I purchased a couple then I could make a couple of extra quid on ebay and reduce the cost of mine iyswim.0

supply and demand supply and demand. No this annoys me . the fact you search everywhere for a product because selfish people have bought two or three to sell at a profit .
its worse than ticket toutiing

In the circumstances moneymaker2, you absolutely go for it. Robpw, I don't agree - the thing is you [and I] may search everywhere, because we're MSErs, but a lot of people are just too lazy. If the OP has done some background work, she's entitled to make money on it. Only doing on a small scale what most companies do over and over - big time.0

If the OP has thinks they can make some money good for them as they run the risk that the product wont turn a profit when it comes to it. Remember PS3?[strike]Debt @ LBM 04/07 £14,804[/strike]01/08 [strike]£10,472[/strike]now debt free:j

calm down rob - just use the profits you got from selling the ornament!!
You are entilted to buy as much of a product as you want and the sellor is willing to sell. You are also entitled to sell you own goods. No conflict here. After falling off the gambling wagon (twice): £33,600 (24,000+ 9,600) - Original CC Debt: £7,885.91
