London Mint Office - warning

Hi everyone,
It's my first post on the forum - a little warning (I wish I could share some good news but hey, maybe next time)
I ordered a coin from the London Mint Office a couple of weeks ago. (Fully aware it's worthless in the UK but it was supposed to be a little souvenir to celebrate a family event.) I was less than impressed with the quality of the coin (blemishes and scratches all over) so I called them asking for a replacement. Duly sent it back in the return envelope they provided later (having written REPLACEMENT REQUIRED in bold red letters on the envelope, as instructed by customer service) and guess what I received yesterday? Another coin that I never ordered...
Called them to clarify what happened (thought it was just a human error) and it turned out I somehow agreed to receive a collection of coins "on approval" although I don't remember reading anything about it in T&C (!) I told them I didn't want to receive any more coins or mail from them so I'll see what happens.
By the way, they've never posted my replacement because the guy on the phone asked if I wanted to get it.
Beware - you may like one of their coins (some are really nice) and think you'll just get this one and that's it. Not that easy! They'll send you more and more coins and you'll have to waste time phoning them and going to a post office because even though return mail is free you're supposed to get proof of postage. Oh, did I mention customer service are rude?
My advice - avoid buying from the London Mint Office, I think it's just not worth it...

As far as I am aware, the London Mint office is NOTHING to do with the Royal mint, and produce coins of limited value where the sole purpose seems to be to try to tie people in to these kind of 'we'll just keep sending you stuff you don't want until you pay for it all' kind of deals. There has been a thread about them previously which you might find enlightening:

Yes, I know that thread and I knew the coins had no value - as I said I just wanted one coin which I liked and I thought it would be easy to get out of it then. It proves a bit annoying though so I thought I'd post the message just to warn forum readers again...0
