Ticket Booking Fees - Warrington Parr Hall

It has to be a major rip - ticket booking fees....
I just tried to book some tickets online at Warrington Parr Hall and each ticket gets a £1.30 booking fee, which on a £12 ticket, is a major rip in my book.
I thought there was something that said service processing costs had to reflect the real costs and why, for example, banks had to refund lots of unfair charges.
Does this not apply to ticket selling organisations? I'm not saying there shouldn't be any fees, but these seem excessive and not fair...
Grrrr.

Personally i'd say that is quite low. I've seen booking fees for anywhere between £1 and up to £10. I would personally say that is low.

I hate booking fees, grr!
I bought some tickets the other month, came to £70, once the fees were added it came to £88. Soooo irritating, not a lot you can do though *hmph* x0 -
I think that's the lowest booking fee that I have seen. Sad but truenothing to see here, move along...0

If they are selling the tickets on behalf of someone else, the booking fee may be the only income the seller can earn from the sale. Not saying it's right, just offering a reason as to why the charge may be madeGwlad heb iaith, gwlad heb galon0

I think a 10% booking fee is quite expensive; it's not case of being relatively low or high.
If you booked your car in for a service and they tried to charge a 10% booking fee you'd tell them to f off.
Or, if you tried to take £100 from the cash point and it only gave you £90, you'd be peeved, shirley.
The price of the ticket should include, the costs of the ticket which should cover everybody's costs - to say it's £10 and then say "oh, by the way there's another £1 to pay" just aint right.
Deep breaths, deeeeep breaths....:D

10% is average across the board with ticket agencies. I do however agree that it should be listed as part of the price and not whacked on to the top0

Quite right,
You are also able to tell the booking agent to f off, so I dont really see your point.0 -
.. And then not have any tickets...0

But if the booking fee was included, there would be no transparency, and you wouldn't know how much you were paying for the ticket and how much for the booking fee - I think given the alternative, I prefer the current system. Tickets have a 'face value' which should always be the same no matter where you buy it from, and then booking fees are clear where applied so that people know what they are paying for.
I do hate paying the booking fee, but I still prefer to know I am paying it. I think a better system would be to charge per order rather than per ticket, but if you want to see the gig, you have to pay the price unfortunately.
If anyone is interested, the Barbican charge £1 for booking + postage, no matter how many tickets you book - very nice considering I wanted to book tickets for three different events there last year!0 -

Freedom of choice.
You choose not to pay the booking fee = no tickets.
Pay the booking fee = tickets.
I cannot explain it any simpler.0
