Mobile 'down under'

I am travelling this summer and want to keep in contact with a BT land line in the UK using my Vodaphone mobile. I will be phoning UK from Hong Kong, Australia and Singapore. UK BT line will also want to phone my mobile.
Any advice as to how to do this without a second mortgage would be very welcome! Thanks in advance

get a mobile contract on three as you cang get three like home with them. not sure about singaport but deffo hong kong and australia. basically you just use your normal allowance as if you were in the uk to call home. as long as its within your allowance its a free call.

One solution for Australia is to buy a sim card for your unlocked phone (?). Would suggest Telstra for Oz as they have the largest network, however Vodaphone are well represented on the East coast. You can buy one before you go through www.experimentalist.co.uk who also have a pretty good forum about how to etc. You may find tips there regarding the other countries too.

We bought a sim last year from them but it had expired for this trip and I just went onto a post office shop in Perth and paid A$25 for a new sim with A$25 credit on it - money saving or what.
