in Credit cards
Hi all
I have 5 credit cards administered by MBNA - they all have nil balances and I don't use them :
Based on previous experience with MBNA, keeping one of their cards also serves as a good way to hold the high credit limit I've built up with MBNA and get that credit limit shifted onto any new cards applied for later down the line. So I should in theory be able to apply for a new card eventually and when they give me a rubbish credit limit, I can transfer my existing MBNA credit limit from the card I keep to the new card and then cancel the old one.
My question is which is the best MBNA credit card to keep? Do any of these 5 MBNA credit cards offer secondary benefits not provided by the other 4?
Appreciate any thoughts - thanks
FYI - I put all my credit card spending on an old Tesco credit card to collect airmiles via clubcard deals and I have no credit card debts.

Roll a dice....
Sony card gives you points but as you know you have to spend about 15k to earn a dvd....
There's little difference between them though virgin & A&L were some of the last to scrap BT x/fer fees (i'm a former employee)

The virgin card gives discounts on all the virgin stores and products...... only any good if you use them anyway though.....
20% off somthing large you where buying anyway sounds good (as long as you pay off in full of course), like a console from zavvi for example, or flights? (not sure of the discount on flights though, have to check)Official DFW Nerd Club - Member no. 784 - Proud to be dealing with my debts0 -
I'm embarrassed not knowing what benefits each card provides, but I don't use them and all the postal bumf went in the bin ages ago - keeping the standard card might be an idea on the basis that the others are more likely to offer goodies for new card offers - don't know - I forgot to mention that my Alliance & Leicester card is a platinum card - is that just a gimmick or does the 'platinum' tag actually give any benefits in the real world - such as insurances, fraud protection, online protection, etc.0

it's a gimmick. It used to be gold cards that yuppies sought, then platinum soon it will be black credit cards. You can have a 29.9% APR on a platinum
. The T'&C's are virtually identical for all these cards and any included insurance would not be adequate to cover you for anything that needs insurance....these people charge for ppi which is useless and impossible ( well very difficult to get a claim on) so imagine what the free insurance on these cards is like0
