Know of high interest savings accounts for non-EU citizen?

Does anyone know of a bank offering a high interest / no fee account to a non-EU ciitizen who's been in the UK for <2 years.
So far I've been declined by two institutions (including A+L) due to my short address history (<2y) in the UK?
I've been fully employed in a well-paying job in the UK since arriving in '06 and do not have a bad credit history, paying my HSBC Mastercard off in full each month and have good savings.
Please let me know if you have any suggestions.

Try offshore accounts in Guernsey/Jersey/Isle of Man? They're used to people being nationals of one country and living in another (eg all the British in Spain). Moneyfacts has a rate comparison on their site.
Check carefully to ensure you can do free transfers with BACS, otherwise they'll charge heavily.
I believe HSBC does a 'passport' account or similar for people who've recently moved here - rates may not be great but a way to build up your credit history?0
