Just been to B&Q in Scarborough not sure if national thing and they were just reducing bedding plants by 25% for 5 days only

I got 24 pansies for £1.97 over 25% off from £3.95. Other plants like Lobella, marigolds and others reduced from almost £3 to £2.22

Reason prices have been reduced is they aren't selling due to rubbish weather we are having, so I am sure its the same in other towns

Thanks for the note, but forgive me if pass. I was in a branch of B&Q just yesterday and I've never seen so many dead or dying plants in my life.

There ought to be cruelty laws about the way some of these places operate.

Yes they dont look after them very well but if you buy them when they soon come in on large wheeled containers they are fine

There was a piece in the Daily Mail on Saturday about the plants and how it would affect the industry this year because the Easter weather was so bad.
    3 kids(DS1 6 Nov, DS2 8 Feb, DS3 24 Dec) a hubby and two cats - I love to save every penny I can!

Easter was just too early. A week later would have made a difference.

I don't feel sorry for the likes of B&Q though I feel sorry for my local greengrocers who sell a lot of plants as a side line. They had lots of bedding plants which they took a long time to shift and they are much cheaper than B&Q.
    I'm not cynical I'm realistic :p

(If a link I give opens pop ups I won't know I don't use windows)

I work for B&Q. There bedding plants are usually shipped over from Holland and so aren't green when you think of the milage. They will always have 25% off events because when you think of how far they travel, a lot will die a few days after they are delivered and they have to get rid of them quick.
You are usually better off buying them from small shops who source these things locally.

Homebase is selling 30 violas for £1.99 instead of £3.99
