i may be wrong here, but i dont think you can pick your sky + box, i think it is just pot luck as to what the enginear brings with him, unless of course u buy one from ebay, the subscription is the same, as long as you subscribe to some sort of package, if you only have the free sat then i believe u still have to pay £10 per month for use of the sky + functions.Take every day as it comes!!0

Unless you are going to buy one off Ebay or the like you don't have a choice, its what the Sky man has on the van when he comes round to install your new kit.
If he has a few boxes on board you could ask him for a particular one.
The usual concensus is No 1 Pace, No 2 Thompson, No 3 Amstrad.
Sky bought Amstrad off Sir Alan so there may be more of them now! That gum you like is coming back in style.0 -
Yep you dont get a choice of what Sky+ box you get, it all depends what the engineer gets from the depot in the morning, to be hones they all have problems no matter what brand you get.0

I made a note on my account that if the engineer turns up with an Amstrad he wouldn't be allowed passed the door. My friend had a box that crashed, wouldn't series link properly and random buttons don't work
I got a Panasonic0 -
You can get anything put on your account but the reality is you are just ordering a Sky+ box nowhere does it state what model you are getting, if they only have Amstrad on the van that is what you will get, turn the engineer away and you risk getting your account cancelled0

If you ring Sky and tell them you want to cancel they may upgrade you to Sky Plus for free with no installation charge either. It worked for me!!!!0
