Fuuny enough my DH came a cross an ad for them yeaterday in his mum's local paper and we've had a look at their website. Are they actually timber frame houses or are they like a mobile home made static if you know what I mean? What do you think of them so far?Hi there we are building a timber frame at moment do u live in NI if so try western building systems they have a site ours is costing about 15,000 cos my hubby doing most of work himselfMember #7 SKI-ers Club

we explored the idea of using these guys last year. They seemed pretty good to deal with but the project was shelved in the end. Check them out.Timmay!0 -

Hi francophile
I admit i had my reservations at first but i'm delighted with it so far, it looks like a 'real' house and can be moved or static, ours can be moved but we intend to build brick (on bottom) around it the timber walls will be plastered and dashed, i don't know all the ins and outs but its lovely, i'm so glad we didn't saddle ourselves with a mortgage this way all we needed was a credit union loan so it'll be paid back in no time. You might find century homes a good website too, western homes are helpful and you can buy them ready made, if your dh is handy with his hands it'll save a fortune!

oh western buildings can be either static homes or houses both equally as good but static much cheper, go down and have a look at them it'll make much more sense0

Thanks josoap. Western Homesa are advertising an open weekend this weekend so we'll probably go and have a look. We haven't got planning permission yet so we're just checking things out at this stage.Member #7 SKI-ers Club
