Taking ages to switch to EDF
Did a comparison online on 2 March 2008 and decided to switch my electricity (from Atlantic) and gas (from N Power) to EDF.
I received a contract on 5 March 2008 but have heard nothing since.
Rang them on 11 April 2008 and was told it can take upto 8 weeks to switch, are EDF normally this slow, I have switched a few times before but its never taken this long.

Same here, acknowledgement and new contract 3/5 March and nothing since.
Is there a performance target for transfers ?
Cant find anything on the regulator sites.0 -
4-8 weeks is the standard, IGT gas supplies can take longer, butthey should keep you up to date with the process, especially as the switch date gets closer.0

Got a letter yesterday (26 April), my electric is switching tomorrow (28 April).
Yes my gas is IGT, didn't realise they took longer to switch.
No Direct Debits have been set up on my bank account which I was surprised at and I've not been informed of what my monthly payment is going to be. Might give them a call tomorrow!Cashback earned

Phoned up today ( email "contact us" gave upto 9 working days for a reply !!), told "in progress" and when pushed maybe another 2 weeks.
Gas isnt IGT .
I'm sure its never taken this long before and I've always had loads of letters before from both the new and old suppliers.!0 -
My electric is now switched to EDF and my gas goes over on 8 May.
The whole process has taken 2 months, from past experience its usually 1 month.
I've already had to ring them, they wanted to start taking £30 a month by direct debit for my electric when my annual usage is only £150.Cashback earned
