Joining aluminium guttering to wooden guttering?

Hi
Is it possible to successfully join aluminium guttering to wooden guttering? Next door have wood and we don't want the expense of needing to maintain it as it takes scaffolding to get to the front.
But ours is in need of replacement and the builder isn't sure about joining the two successfully. The neighbours on the other side have aluminium though because we're on a hill there isn't a direct join.
Can it be done?
Thanks.

Haven't seen ali gutters used for a long time in this country. Its normally plastic. There is a joining piece available from specialist guttering/facia supply companies to join wooden to plastic. explain the problem to them and thgey will nortmally come up with a solution. Where are you based? Merrydale Plastics in Chadwell St Mary, Essex are the company I use.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0

It cant be just wood, it must be lined with something, ie Zinc, Lead, Aluminium.

I don't know what next door's is lined with. Do you mean the connection must be lined with something? Thanks.
Are aluminium gutters not recommended then? Are plastic ones better? The builder is someone we trust but is hiring out the job of the gutters while he gets on with other work inside the house.May all your dots fall silently to the ground.0 -
Well, I stand corrected.
Having just googled it you can indeed get just wooden gutters. Just goes to show that even after nearly 30 years in the trade, you never learn it all!
Appologies one and all.
