Sorry well yes in that case it's the estate agents failing - and that's the comeback route.

I chased up the purchase of my house with my estate agent after the survey was carried out with a view to contacting the buyers' solicitor. He told me that it would look like desperation at this point, and so advised against it.
The sales progressor emailed me a number of times to say that as she had heard nothing to the contrary, i should assume that the sale was going ahead ok.
My main problem is that the estate agents and the solicitors are the same company, but whilst the solicitor was aware that the sale had fallen through, the estate agents say that they didn't know.

You would need to be a pretty thick solicitor not to question whether someone would want to proceed with a purchase if you had received notification that their sale had fallen through!
