that GE MONEY are going to court to repro my house:eek: i know because we are BR we wont incure the shortfall but i just feel sad that if GE MONEY had helped us when we asked them too i could still be living in my home, i asked to go interest only for 6mths whilst we tried to sell the house but no they wouldnt accept that, (& at that point we had NO arreas)
i know i have previously said that a house isnt a home its the people in it that makes it a home but i feel quite sad & it feels quite "final"
although i'm not sure what the outcome of today will be i dont know if there will be another court date or they will ask for the keys back etc
part of me wants to attend the court hearing with my head held high but another part of me just wants to hide away as i think i might get upset as its another realization of what a mess we "were" in.
on a plus note my LL is fitting us a new kitchen, as this was the only downside to this house when we decided to move here the current kitchen is VERY old & dated i was cheeky & asked him if he would fit a new kitchen & he said only if we signed a 12mth contract instead of 6 as he didnt want to spend any more money on the house if we were going to move on in 6mths, we did this quite happily & he has even let me pick the kitchen, his exact words were "how can i pick a kitchen for you? i dont know what you want, you have to live with it"
maybe once i have a new kitchen how i want it this house will start feeling like a "home"
thanks for reading i just wanted to post about today being yet another day of mixed emotions going down the bumpy BR road

My home was reprocessed in the first week in feb and its only today that the eviction order comes into force and the locksmiths change the locks  no need to hand in the keys as they send a locksmith in anyway FL
Once they have the house they dont rush to do much else in my case anyway :mad:bsc no 162

Dear Feeling Low,
Fantastic that you get to choose your own kitchen! It will definitely feel more like *your* home once this is done. Keep your chin up and focus on the Ikea/B+Q/Homebase catalogues, and don't go for stainless steel doors - they're a nightmare to keep clean!

thanks, we have picked the kitchen I have gone for white units with black granit work tops with an intergrated double oven & hob, we spent the day yesterday taking 3 layers of tiles off & the electricain is booked for next thursday & the plumber & joiner for the saturday.
i just want to feel like this is now our "home" but i guess its like anything else & takes time.BSC Member#99

Feeling low, it must be a difficult day for you.
As Lily says though, focus on the kitchen (and the future) and avoid white/cream kitchens that have grooves in them:rolleyes: there really hard to cleanThe first time we said hello, was the first time we said goodbye. As the angels took your tiny hand and flew you to the sky-you forever left us breathless. RIP my beautiful granddaughter0 -
Pop down to your local supermarket at about 5ish and see if they have steak reduced. A cheap bottle of wine and you can relax this evening knowing that it will then be "over" .
And I am pleased with the kitchen! Sounds like a nice landlord.0 -
If you've taken three layers of tiles off, the kitchen will be bigger too!0

I can understand how sad you must feel, but at last it's another chapter of your life finally closed.
And what a great landlord you have, hope the work goes well. I'm sure it will help your house feel more like home, especially as you got to choose it.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -
WOW how lucky are you !!!!!
You must have a nice LL. I have a council place and have just bought an ex display kitchen to 'try' and make it feel more like home.
The worst is over, just think your already making the place feel like yours with a kitchen to your taste..
Remember the past has happened and you cant change it, the future is to come and you can make it EXACTLY how you want it.BSC member 137
