Hi
We are looking for a new cooker hood, and we thought we had settled on an AEG HC5690M 90cm Chimney Hood, the cheapest was £260 inc delivery, Extraction rate 660 per hour and washable filters. However I then looked at Screwfix and they have a glass chimney with 700 per hour ex rate and for £150. Has anyone used Screwfix for cooker hoods, are they any good, its non branded does anyone know who they are actually made by and if they have washable filters? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks
Lara

Hi there,
Its been 3 years so i assume you have gone ahead with the purchase, however if not, and for the benefit of anyone who stumbles across this.
I brought the 60cm Stainless steel hood, which will be fixed sometime soon, however all is good.
It seems to ahve filters for Grease and general 'clag'
But also can be installed Vented or Non-vented / Ventless
The way the latter works is it is a carbon filter which collects any foul odours / particles of grease that have made it through and then extracts them back into the air of the kitchen but cleaner.
the downside is the Carbon filter will need changing every year or so.
Suffice to say as this would be an issue for me i am going for the vented installation option.
I hope this helps.
I'll try and post back (If i remember!) About how the hood functions.0 -
Why comment on a 2 year old post? what are you trying to prove?Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0
