A question about the house we have just bought

Well we are installed in our new home. Its a bit Arctic with the economy 7.
However, just a couple of things are bugging me.
1) When the survey was carried out, hot water was running. However when we moved in the immersions were cream crakered and a week without hot water aint funny. How many kettles to fill the bath? well, unlimited as the water cools before the next one boils up.
Also, the vendor left a washing machine at the property. Thinking it was OK i tried it and it leaked everywhere over the floor. Now I have to pay to dispose of it.
Is there any come back?

You should have received a contents list from your solicitor stating what was to be included in the sale of the house.
If it was listed and you didn't object - nothing you can do.
If it wasn't listed then you can ask the previous owner to remove it.
Depends what type of people they are though; probably less hassle just to get rid of it yourself.
Eventhough it states in the survey hot water was running; the condition of the boiler wouldn't have been assessed, there should be a service log which you should have received in the house pack.
If you can prove that the boiler had problems before you moved in; then you may have some come back; but you would more than likely have to do this through the courts; which can be costly and time consuming.
Check your documents and speak to your solicitor to see what they say.0
