When you say currency purchases do you mean going into the Post Office and buying currency like that or actually in the foreign country buying something in dollars say with a credit card?
When I bought my currency recently it showed on my bank statement as a cash advance, so I guess the same would be for credit cards and that is the APR you would be looking for."I'm not from around here, I have my own customs"
For confirmation: No, I'm not a 40 year old woman, I'm a 26 year old bloke!0 -

if you buy euros it will almost certainly be classed as a cash advance ... so don't do that... as its very expensive.
if you simply use the card to spend (and not withdraw cash) in europe then it will be classed as purchases (although unless its a Nationwide or PO card you will be charge a foreign exchange fee of about 2-3 %)EU tariff on agricultual product 12.2%
some dairy products 42.1% cloths 11.4%

Get a M&S & More card & use it to buy currency from a M&S store. These are treated as purchases & you get 0% interest for 6m on purchases when you open an account!
Future currency purchases would give you up to something like 54 days free credit if you timed them right.Ethical moneysaver0
