hi can anyone offer us any advise please. my boyfriend is going to malawi for a month and would like to take over as many mosquito nets as he can to help prevent the death of so many african children who die from malaria each day. are we allowed to ask for donations and do some fundraising without being a registered charity or is there some sort of procedures we have to follow.

Collect money and give it to a already existing charity.0

If he is going in a month's time, I guess there is not enough time to find an existing charity who will buy the nets and I can understand that he wants to be able to take the nets with him.
You are allowed to collect money for this project, privided you don't describe the project as charitable (as you are not a charity and not constituted as such). Make sure your literature clearly states this money is going to the purchase of nets by an individual and you dont give the imprssion of being a charity.£705,000 raised by client groups in the past 18 mths :beer:0
