I disagree, no matter what the price you and virgin have a contract both ways and if they are changing the contract to such an extent it makes surfing an unjoyable experience then they have broke their part of the contract, also as I signed up with them about 5 years ago (blueyonder) the service was top notch but now its awful, speeds slow down at night and customer service is non-existent, and yet when I signed up they didnt tell me the service was goint to end up !!!!!!.
Then surely you vote with your feet and move ISP?
Get a bad deal on your savings, car insurance, etc. You move bank, insurer etc. Can't see it being any different.0 -
Wait.... Virgin media have a fast lane? They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it0

Not as simple as that as I have no phone line and BT want about £130.00 for the install, then line rental then ontop of that I would have to pay for BB, so Virgin is the best deal I can get only by default.
Now you see the difference, and yes even tho im paying £10 per month I still expect a service that I was promised and is still valid by Virgins own T&C's0 -

I've read that if you go with sky, and speak to them about it first (maybe a little conversation engineering would help) they'll credit your account by the amount that BT will charge you.

Ive heard similar but I have also heard about how poor the service is with Sky, I know its a bit like going to a mechanic and wondering what work they actually did, but I just cant believe how Virgin have made such a mess with things, Customer support is in india and now they just talk from a script as whn it was BY you actually had a techie chat with some nice person who cared and did phone you back, but now Richard Beardy Branston Pickle is in the BB business I may as well connect my old dynamo back up.

Use a decent ISP and you won't have trouble with throttling, or Phorm... or any of this nonsense.
If you pay the cheapest price, really you can't complain.
...but in xTelewest days, you paid a premium for broadband with them and you got excellent, reliable service.
Some people are still paying that higher price, but since the merger with NTL and the change of name, the service has gone downhill.
Yes, new customers are getting silly £4.50 broadband offers, but the vast majority of customers are not on these low offers.
Though if you contact retentions, you should get a decent price reduction, but then the service quality is reducing for most people, so it should be expected. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc... Meant to be until then end of May. Have they cut it short?
Though you'd think they want to get Open Reach to do the job under contract from Sky and have Sky Line rental. It's PAC not PAC Code, it's MAC not MAC Code, it's PIN not PIN Number, it's ATM not ATM Machine, it's LCD not LCD Display, it's DVD not DVD disc...
