I am selling an item but it is going at a very low price.
Is it possible to stop an auction and by doing this can I get any negative feedback etc?

Possibly if you are not too late.

There are still various 'dubious' ways around this though. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Want to expand on that?0 -
:)I would imagine 'dubious' ways are registering an additional account under a different email and bidding on your own item, or getting a friend to do so. Both of which occur but are contrary to ebay rules.

And then claim back the FVF.
Or the item gets broken before you can post it.
Not recommending either, just pointing out that ebay changing the rules will not change what people will do.
As an aside, I picked up an item on ebay for 1p this afternoon (with reasonable p&p). I bet the seller wanted to cancel that listing as well. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

you can cancel an auction, by cancelling all bids, then close auction - ie say item already sold elsewhere.....
you wont get a refund on listing feessmile --- it makes people wonder what you are up to....

Yeah just noticed that! Cheers robnye.
Don't think I will need to cancel the item as it is going for a high price! ;D0 -
Don't forget that many auctions attract no bids till perhaps the last hour & then bidding can be quite furious & go quite high.
I myself try never bid on an auction before the last 10mins & the last 2 or 3 mins can be the most crucial. The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.
I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.0 -
Thanks everyone!
I didn't need to cancel the order as the item went for a good price!
