Childcare Vouchers instead of salary

Sorry for being a numpty- but Martin recommends exchanging salary for Childcare Vouchers- as you don't get taxed and therefore get full amount for Childcare Vouchers-, but these vouchers pay only for childcare?- how is one supposed to pay for everyday essentials like shopping ,petrol, bills etc?

you can only take up to a limit in vouchers, i think it's stil £243 per month, the rest is salary as usual
have a look at some of the company information, the main ones are:
sodexho pass
accor
kids unlimited

Checked his article again and it is very confusing and almost misleading.Amazing that he doesn't mention the £243 (or whatever it is limit)He appeared on his show and again made no mention of this limit and confusingly kept mentioning taking 1000 of vouchers instead of cash salaryifonlyitwaseasier wrote: »you can only take up to a limit in vouchers, i think it's stil £243 per month, the rest is salary as usual

They pay for childcare - that's why they're called childcare vouchers! On the other hand, some organisations offer salary sacrifice schemes that can be used to pay pension contributions,car/bikes,computers, medical insurance etc. Probably best to check with your employer what's on offer.0 -
If you need advice why not ask a question?
Regarding how to pay bills, food etc - apply common sense and dont buy too many vouchers so that you can afford to pay everything else. Nobody is telling you that you need to spend ALL of your salary on the vouchers. There is a limit per month, iirc it is £243.0
