Im gonna sound like a right old cow now, but it seems OP that you're just after a quick fix without putting any effort in.
The ONLY way to loose weight is healthy diet, and plenty of exercise.
    sorry.
You lied to me Edward. There IS a Swansea. And other places.....

My best friend has been getting slimming pills from the doctor and earlier this week was rushed to hospital with suspected heart-attack most probably brought on by the pills. She's only 27 and really thought her time was up.
This goes to show that there can be complications even by doing it through the right route, getting them from the internet you don't know if you've got what it says on the packet.
If you want to lose weight please, please do it the right way by doing exercise and eating properly.
Give a person a fish and you feed them for a day; teach that person to
use the Internet and they won't bother you for weeks.:D
  • Xenical / Orlistat. Works like a charm. Isn't prescription. It's a pancreatic function modifier that stops you metabolising as much fat. Unfortunately you pay by being nailed to the toilet and poop yourself in the street randomly. It's like pooping vegetable oil.

Don't buy off internet - it's probably illegal and risky.

Avoid the chinese stuff like the plague - some of it is highly carciogenic and most of it is not licensed for sale in the UK due to these problems. You're probably killing yourself taking it.

Seriously - the best thing is exercise and diet changes. That is the only "magic" solution.
£8k to pay off before Jan 2011! Was 28k to pay off by Jan 2010 though so I'm happy :)

Orlistat is what my friend was on( i think). It is on prescription but only recently, as she did say its a new pill.

I think Hoodia works well. It has been discussed before on here.

Xenical is prescription only in the UK. Some Boots stores have a scheme where they can supply it without a prescription, but this is done privately, not under the NHS. Roche are applying for a half strength version of Xenical to be available over the counter, but not sure what evidence they have to support that dose.

Xenical inhibits an enzyme called lipase, and so reduces the amount of fat that is absorbed - it doesn't affect the pancreas, and doesn't affect metabolism of fats. Xenical can cause problems if diet isn't changed - the fat that isn't absorbed can't just sit in your intestines for ever, it has to go somewhere.
  • i have used orlistat/xenical prescribed by the doctor.

it is a nightmare if you can't stick to a very low fat diet.

as anything with a bit of fat in that passes your lips comes back out very shortly and it is like pooing out orange greasy fat.

i gave up on them as if i could stick to a non fat diet i wouldn't have needed them in first place.

i had constant stomach ache but i did lose 12lb in 4 weeks so i suppose they do work.

to get them your doctor has to say yes and you have to be weighed every 2 weeks to start with.

    hello

I need to lose some weight before I go on holiday in june and was looking at a quick fix way, I have been taking adios but there hasn't been a any weight loss!!!
I can't go to a gym as I am a single parent to a two year old so don't have time.
I have been looking on ebay but most of these are a con, someone suggested "chesteze" but boots no longer stock this.

    Anyone any ideas?

Strap lil one in the buggy and go for a good long walk, get the heart rate going.

Your local council run sports center has creches and toddler places and you can join up to the sports centre for about £1 or £2, just need to take proof of benefit.

Take the lil one swimming, good fun for both of you.

I really wouldn't recommend slimming pills, you may think they would work until you stop taking them, and you can't take them forever!
Life is about give and take, if you can't give why should you take?
