Thanks to all, changing the microfilter on the master socket worked for me! Had a terrible crackly phone for a long time, this has done the trick

Move your PC to a different place in the room, the electrical current is close to where the phone line is running through your property. Electrical appliances have been known to cause some interference for lines if they're close together. HTH

I am with Virgin and have a cordless DECT phone. But the weird part is it only happens with one person I call and intermitant(sp). She keeps insisting no one else complains about her line just me. Its crackling and a sort of feedback as I can hear myself talking in the phone. She has a BT line but is with Talk Talk.

Have this same problem with Panasonic cordless, digital, phones.

Checked the incoming line with a corded phone, and it is quiet.

Moved phone base to bedroom, but with no change.

These are new phones, replacing others that were also crackly in use. Were OKay for a while but started to crackle over last few days. Broadband connection also problematic, slow - unstable - but that's not new (always happens when it either rains or gets windy). No neighbours close enough to cause a disturbance.

Switching off the wireless router makes no difference.

Using a digital phone on a call is crackly - but using same on the BT quiet test, is quiet .... ?

    Can anyone interpret that ?
