My parents have the above dvd/vhs player, and want to record bbc1, bbc2, itv2, ch4 and ch5 whilst watching satellite. Is this possible??

We can tape satellite and watch bbc1, bbc2, itv1, ch4 and ch5 but don`t seem to be able to do it the other way around. Can anyone help please???

Thanks a lot

Have you plugged your aerial through the dvd recorder?, i.e. into the dvd recorder rf(aerial) in, and then rf (aerial) out to the tv. If it's like this it should be just a case of tuning your dvd recorder to the terrestral (1-5) channels.

    Hi Ok Sauce,
Sorry to be a bit thick, have looked at the connections and we have the aerial connected to the satellite box, then a scart lead and rf cable to dvd. Then scart lead and rf cable to Tv. Does this sound correct?
When I first set up the dvd the channels were tuned automatically, what I dont want to do is lose the satellite channels. Help!!!!
    Thanks a million

Right you are missing a scart connection between the Sky box and the tv

    Should be

Sky 'VCR' scart output ---> dvd scart 1
Sky 'TV' scart output ---> tv's other scart
dvd scart 2 ---> tv scart

Your rf aerial set up is correctly.

To watch Sky whilst recording terrestrials...

If the dvd is tuned in to the terrestrials 1- 5 simply select the channel to record and then on the tv select the second scart input on your tv. (The one connect to the Sky 'TV' scart.)

To record Sky whilst watching terrestrials on tv....

Select the relevant AV channel on the dvd that's plugged to the Sky box's VCR scart

and watch tv channels 1-5 as normal.
