Halifax e-mail - scam?

Options
I just recieved an e-mail from Halifax thanking me that I have changed my contact details. I haven't changed my telephone contact details. I opened the e-mail... I hope it's not a trap after opening it.

If you guys get one, it's a scam.

It says the following:

Dear customer,

Thank you for confirming your telephone contact details.

If you have made any amendments to your contact details these have now been updated.

Please note that if you hold any joint accounts, only your details will be updated.

This confirmation email has been sent as a security precaution.

If you did not make this number change/confirmation, please call our online helpdesk on 08456 02 00 00. Lines are open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Regards,

The number is a genuine Halifax one so why not give them a call if you are worried.

It is a scam I got one as well, but my phishing filter picked it up. If you recieve any mail like this, or offers from Russian girls wanting to marry you, google it, I found this first hit

copy and paste in your browser and it tells you it is a scam. Never give details out, the banks would never ask for them.

The email you link to above is different to the one that the op posted. I dont think the one they posted is a scam and it isnt asking for any details.
