Eurostar to Paris

Options
I have fallen in love and have to get to Paris as often as possible. Is there any way cheaper than booking Paris-London-Paris?, eg there are always empty seats on Eurostar, are there any ways (staff, buying shares or absolutely anything) to get one of those empty seats for less money?.

How to get cheap prices on Eurostar (Internet Explorer Users)

    1) Go to the Eurostar website
    2) You should be asked "country/language" - if not do the following

2a) on the top row of your IE window click on "tools" then "internet options"
2b) there should be a box entitled "temporary internet files"
2c) click on "settings" then " view files".
2d) this brings up a window with a list of files all beginning "cookie"
2e) search through them for one called "cookie:xxxx@eurostar.com" where xxxx is an id and delete that file
    2f) close that window
2g) click "OK" until you get back to IE
    2h) close Internet Explorer
    2i) reopen Internet Explorer
    2j) go to 1)

    3) OK, you've got the "country/language" screen, so select a country - select "United States/English" example
    4) Go into the "fares" (between "book now" and "timetables" to find out what the cheapest possible fare is for your intended trip. Even if you aren't returning by Eurostar pick a RETURN price as they are always cheaper than a single and note the rules for getting that fare (eg day return : must return that day, Leisure Standard Class : Must spend a Saturday away, etc etc)
    5) Go to the booking form, fill in your details and see what price you get & make a note of it. DON'T COMPLETE THE BOOKING YET
    6) Go to 2a & repeat the instructions for other languages such as French/Francais & United Kingdom/English

    7) After all this you should have several prices which you then can compare using something like http://www.xe.com where you will discover which nationality you need to be to get the cheapest fare. Once you've done that, delete the cookie again & make the booking in your preferred language.

Currently the cheapest normal USD return ticket is 94USD which is £52.80 at todays exchange rates - though there is a VERY special ticket for Friday or Saturday night in Paris (return early next day) for 58USD (£32.57).
The cheapest GBP ticket is currently £59 and the cheapest EUR ticket is €70 (£48.66), so today being French is GOOD - if the ticket is available for the French
  • Thanks, Alan, I had got as far as realising Paris/London/Paris ie the EUR ticket is the cheapest, but those empty seats still upset me - Eurostar pricing goes up at the close not down, there MUST be some way to sneak on - I want to see her every weekend!.
