I bought this freezer 3 weeks ago and I am now reeling at the new price
https://www.comet.co.uk
I actually paid £814.00 and it is now £599.00

How did you pay for it?

If you happened to use a HSBC debit card, you should be covered for the 'loss' by their new Price Promise Insurance. Just a thought...

You could always try talking to Comet, don't know how far you will get but it's gotta be worth a try.

I bought the vouchers from Ebay over a period of one month. I saved about £100 doing it that way, it still dosn't compensate for the new price. Thanks for trying to help me, I have been fuming all weekend about the low price.........and particularly the very bad service by the delivery guys which I have sent Comet a complaint letter and awaiting a reply.

Yes if you have a really good winge they might give you some vouchers or something as a form of compensation, but I can't see them giving you any money back.

Find someone at comet who will listen.

Tell them you feel cheated by them as you bought from them as they supposedly don't do sales and always offer great prices.

A drop by £400 is clearly a sale price which has probably been achieved by not lowering the price of that freezer gradually over time, or by inflating it's true value with the intention of dropping it dramatically.

"Our mission is to be the world's most trusted and respected electrical retailer"
Tell them you have lost all respect in them.

"Our Every Day Low Price strategy ensures that low prices are consistently maintained in local markets "
Clearly not or how can they drop the price by £400 in 1 day.

Ask have they abandoned the no sales approach.

I bought a similar fridge/freezer last year and within 2 weeks of ordering it it had been reduced by £100 and you got a free mini football fridge. I hadnt taken delivery yet so i went in and explained all this and they knocked the money off and gave me the free football fridge.

It might work for you, just go in and ask, have you taken delivery yet? if not you couls cancel it and re-order but that is more hassle for comet than just giving you the price difference back.

Go in and ask them and let us know how you got on.

i know it might not be possible, but it might be better to go in today, being a bank holiday they might be busier, so want you out of the shop as quick as possible!! If you go in tomorrow it will probably be quieter and so they can argue the toss more.

Having a squawk fest over the £49.95 comet charge to deliver this, in my case a measly 1 mile from their store. It doesnt even include disposal of old fridge - this is an extra £15. Would suggest anyone thinking of buying borrows a van from a friend, if possible and gets it themselves.

I know i kicked off big time when i bought mine, especially considering i was buying a cooker, washing machine and tumble dryer from them at the same time!!! I told a little fib and said that currys would deliver it all for £15 and in the end they caved in and said ok we will do it for £15. The reason apparently that they charge so much is that on a lot of houses they have to take the doors of the fridge freezer to actually get it in the house, they are massive!! I know they wouldnt have to at my house, as i had a giant whole in kichen wall where it was being extended so i told them that as well. :)
