We've always been with Direct Line for this and then we have always renewed it every time they sent the renewal. Then i thought I would price it up again online with Direct Line and guess what £130 cheaper:eek: . I called them and they said that its right. What a cheek that they send the renewal and its over £130 more than if I renew online:confused: . We cancelled the old policy with no cancellation fee and bought the renewal one from online. Also lots of quidco deals on here and I did find direct line cheaper than all the ones in the comparison one.

Di, if you like the LLoyds one then quidco are offering £120 cashback for both contents and also buidlings or just one is £50.00. See if you can get what you have now with another online quote and get the cash back as well:j

Well done and good for you.

My hubby has his car insurance with direct line, and had been with them for a good few years now, yet he does have a Subaru Impreza, and they have been pretty good, we have just in case tried elsewhere for quotes but none of them beat direct line.

So meanings as we are with these for the car insurance we may as well get a quote online for these for the house insurance, because they do give a bit of a discount don't they if you already have another product with them ?;)
Crafty though I think, the prices are a lot lower online and yet when you phone they suddenly shoot up...... .

My House insurance works out £412.59 a year on this new one, stuff them, I know I can get the same covered for cheaper than that, and I think they are just punishing us for all the complaints we have made on the PPI's lol.......:D .

    Very interesting.
Just had a nose on that insurance site now and yep £120 for both.

Will show hubby this later, thanks.:D ;)

So to do this then I would have to cancel the one I have now, then start up again by accepting this one ? Am I correct ?:D

Still don't understand about what i asked before. Its all double dutch to me:confused:

If co-op were part of this Banking Ombudsman Scheme in 1997 then does that mean that my PPI on loans then can be looked into by the Ombudsman now and becomes under jurisdiction for this reason???
by the looks of it I would say yes, but looking at it there is a 12 month limit of making a claim against the 'old' ombudsman schemes but the 'new' ombudsman has the discretion to overturn this 12 month limit

What we need is one big list of who the fos can look at. what dates apply and what aspects they can look at eg: insurance, penalty charges, loan settlements! Any volunteers ?!!:D
I agree, the FOS must have that - but because it's so complicated they don't release it - it's like being treated like a child - you won't understand it, it's too complicated

    Hi there Tiggrae
    Glad you here.

When you have 5 mins spare do you think you could have a nose on my post I left last night about "rebates on settlements moving on to loan advance" please ?

This is about a mis sold ppi reclaim on the first loan.
    Thanks hun.;)

Start the next one on the date of the old one finishing or you may be charged cancellation and also. Some do some don't. I grabbed ours while I could and cancelled but they waivered the fee. :D
