i AM ABOUT TO BUY A NEW LAPTOP AND NOT BEING THAT TECHNICALLY MINDED I WAS WONDERING IF ANYONE COULD TELL ME WHAT TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS ARE NEEDED FOR MICROSOFT OFFICE IE. RAM SIZE (I THINK!) YOU NEED TO RUN AND INSTALL IT.
IM PROBABLY GOING FOR AN ACER LAPTOP, MODEL 5320 OR 5315.

Both of these laptops will run MS Office comfortably. If you want to multitask you might want to think about upgrading to 2GB's of RAM.

You want AT least 1 GB Ram and Dual core to run modern applications and games, you dont really need a dedicated graphics card unless you want to play modern games. Laptops with a graphics cards normally jump in price i think however PC world had one for £450 an acer one with a HD-DVD drive and a 128MB Dedicated Graphics Card, dont know if they still have it, it was £800 reduced to £450.

anything built in the last 10 years will run office, but office doesn't come cheap.

Depends if you are a student or not. Student editions aren't too bad.

Depends if the op is a 32 yr old mature student. Open office is cheaper still.

Buy it from PC world. They don't give a monkeys it seems. Everyone I know that has purchased a machine from PC World has ended up with a student edition of Office to go on it.
