Try The AA, they gave my partner a £1500 loan even though hes on income Support
Dont allow someone to be your priority.....whilst letting you be their option
  • have you asked your bank if they will give you an overdraft, they snatched my mums hands off to give her a loan as she has a lot of equity in her house.

just thinking that could be a quick way to get him out your hair.

Please don't take out credit that you cannot pay back.

Do you have a Credit Union in your area? This is the only option that I would consider in your situation x
    Gone ... or have I?
  • hey ya...not sure about the loan for your partner- if he is made homeless via an eviction letter he has a better chance of getting a place. if he is in the property chances are he won't get a look in as he is not in a crisis situation. Once he is in the place or have an address he can apply for a community care grant for stuff for his house- provided he is on income or jsa.
    hope it helps...spids

Why are you trying to take out a loan for your partner? Surely this is his responsibility as if it's in your name you will be responsible for the payments. Why are you on the council waiting list if you own a property with the mortgage almost paid off?

Sorry if I've missed something but I'm really puzzled about this.

I was thinking the same, why are YOU on the council list when it;s HIM that needs a place?
Tell him to go see a homeless advisor at the council, some councils run a 'rent deposit scheme'

  • im sorry about the confusion. he has his name on the council waiting list, but i cant cope anymore and if i can get the money i am willing to pay it just to get rid of him. he will become violent if i threaten to evict him so i thought if ican get the money and a place for him to live it wont be so bad. thanks for the replies.

 You need to get professional advice NOW!

You should not go down the root of paying him to leave; it will never end and he will find more reasons to threaten and bully you (need a tv, car MOT due etc.)

Please, please get some proper advice, there are ways and means of getting him to leave without you being in fear or paying him. (been there, done it, got the t-shirt, believe me,it will not be the end if you give in to him)

    Good luck xxx

  • Oh, meant to say if you are on Income Support you can get a budgeting loan which is re-payable directly out of your IS.

The service is very quick (usually takes a week)

Ring the DWP (I think it is) and they will send you a form to complete.

    Good luck again xx
