They have a 6.5% One year fixed rate account being launched as well.;)

I could be wrong but my gut tells me that 6 months is preferable to 12 now - not because of any banks going bankrupt issues but because I think that inflation is going to be a bigger problem by the end of the year.

I have one 12 monther with the Co-op and whilst I might be glad of it 6 months from now I get the feeling that inflation is going to get worse not better this year.


Just my opinion.

I believe both are branch - could be wrong.

That's a bit naff - all other bonds I have opened have been walk in off the street situations.

yes, but it is in 4th place and still behind Birmingham Midshires and Icesave, (and another one I can't remember) so why bother.

My nearest Brum Midshires branch is over 100 miles away. My nearest Icelandic branch is about 1,500 miles away. My nearest A&L branch is about a mile down the road.
