Hi Guys,

I am no expert at computer and only knew basic stuff and I am wondering if anybody could help me.

I've got a desktop Dell computer and when I log on there's a message on the screen that says, " Tray has encountered a problem an needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience." I have no idea what it is all about? Is it somehting serious? How can I fix it? I would appreciate any tips and advise. Many thanks.

cheers

I don't suppose it says what "tray" it is does it? It is probably the system tray but we need to be sure. Goto start, run and type in eventvwr and hit ok. Look in the application log for errors and tell us what it says. It will probably be under an explorer entry

Hi TonyLisaP thanks for your reply. It doesn't specify what tary it is. This is what it says:
Application Log Application Error Records 512KB
System Log System Error Records 512KB
Internet Explorer Log Custom Log Error Records
Media Center Log Custom Log Error Recors 64KB

You have to go into the application log, you are just looking at the main screen.
    Double click on application

Double click on the item next to the red cross, highlight the text by holding down the shift key and dragging your mouse, press ctrl-c to copy it then open up this page and press ctrl-v to paste it.

Hold down the left mouse button and drag the mouse down, this should highlight everything.
