Widowed Parents Allowance and/or Carer's Allowance?

I currently receive Carer's Allowance because my daughter is disabled.
My husband recently died and I claimed Widowed Parents Allowance. The form stated my Carer's Allowance would be affected by a claim for Widowed Parents Allowance.
Does this mean Carers Allowance will cease and be replaced by Widowed Parents Allowance or that it will be reduced?
I am a little confused by the wording used on the Widowed Parents Allowance form.
