 I have received 2 emails from other fsmail.net users replying to emails which were not sent from me but bear my address. At the time i was supposed to have sent them my whole family were 200mls away with no access to a pc,and no-one had access to my house,or pc. Both emails were of a dubious nature,1 from loopylove.com .How can anyone reply to an email which i didnt send?? it's probably a scam and i've not replied but can anyone offer any advice or shed some light on this type of activity??We are now quite worried that our privacy has been breached!

There are "bots" out there which basically trawl the internet looking for email addresses...this can be from newsgroups to chat forums. When they find email addresses they are then sold to marketing companies and anyone else who will pay monet for them.
There is also the possibility that someone has entered your email into a site which them means you get the trash sent....
The other possibility is, someone who has your email has had a virus/trojan which has forwarded your email address..this could have actually happened from your own computer if any recent emails have been opened with attachments which "appeared" not to open.Welcome, rogerramjet.

thanx-it's very strange to be targetted so soon because the address had only just been set up,and had no mail in or out except a tester from my email, which is virus free.I've deleted the offending items for now and if it happens again i'll get the full addresses and report it to wanadoo. Unfortunately i dont have a lot of confidence in wanadoo, having had a lot of unwanted/offensive ad material via my webmail when i first set that up.It took ages to get it stopped. Are there any really good email services where i can get 2 addresses and be secure or is this a common problem?0
