ebay/bidpay.....

I paid for an item i bought from ebay (america) through bidpay using my credit card (never realised that bidpay is wester union).

After 3 week of non delivery and then the seller becoming un-registered i then asked ebay for a refund of £8.00. i am not legible for a refund so what do i do now, i know that £8.00 is not much but it annoys me that ebay lets them get away with this.

I do remember reading that because i paid by credit card i might be able to get it back?

Any suggestions welcome..........

just ring up your credit card company, and if its been 30 days since you've paid, you will get a refund from your company, who will then file a dispute for you. if the seller, can prove delivery etc, then the CC compnay can take the money back off you.

I hate to say it but be grateful it wasn't for more. My friend got stung for nearly £150 for a mobile phone but fortuantely it was covered by paypal's insurance policy. To be honest my tip is to NEVER to use a western uniobn/bidpay pyament - they are simply non-traceable and that is the issue. I either use paypal with credit card or direct bank transfer (but only for smaller amounts)

Ebay state clearly on most of their correspondence that they do not recommend anyone uses Western Union to make payments as it is not considered safe.
