Transferred ISA funds do i need to cancel ?

I've just setup a new ISA for this tax year and transferred the amount from my previous ISA from last financial year. Do I need to cancel my old ISA from last year.
I'm fairly new to ISA's and not sure if when you empty it its automatically cancelled or I need to write to them as it will be kept open.
