Benedicts is a tasty place to eat - if you're there on a friday/monday it does a "beat the clock" menu between 5:30 and 7 - basically the time you order is the price you pay for the main course (e.g. order at 5:30, pay £5.50). some of the mains are £10-£13 so it can be bargainous. and it's extremely tasty too! There's a bar on the ground floor but I woudn't recommend staying there all night, there are far better places (mentioned above) to drink!

Another tasty and cheap place to eat is cafe renoir on botanic avenue, close to lots of pubs. there's a licenced section and a byo section, so you can stock up on a few bottles in the off licence and have a cheap meal with plenty of drinks

Girls this guys has got it right. these are the places to go plus bar red round the corner. Northern Whigg is another and there is somewhere near Habitat that has just recently opended and is meant to be very popular.
PS and who advised to go to the giants. Wise up. Its a group of girl wanting a good nite out

Thanks to all for your helpful tips. Roll on friday so I can sample all you have on offer. Can feel a hangover or two coming on so Ulster fry sounds like the best cure

I certainly did Pink-winged thanks for adding link I am so not techie lol. I have just added a further post in that thread listing some of the pubs we visited. I have been telling everyone to visit Belfast so lots of Scots will be making their way over soon to sample some of your great hospitality :beer:
